The Achromatic Style seeks to nullify manufacturer colour calculations when converting colourimages to grayscale by utilizing Capture One's ability to ignore colour corrections doing demosaicing.

Being based on the late 18th century bear blue-sensitive silver halide responses this Style lightly lightens blues while colours above 600 nm will increasingly darken.

As of the early 19th century the ability to capture the wider visible spectrum became ever increasingly prominent, likewise, this style provides a more contemporary response.

Delicately darkening blues whilst lightly lightening yellows this Style stands to emulate the blue absorbing effects achieved when using a yellow filter on panchromatic film.

With a versatile warm tone preference similar to that of the Panchromatic (Y), the Panchromatic (O) is yet even more pronounced in it's darkening of cyan thus delivering slightly higher contrast.

Scaled back in order to provide a somewhat more natural rendering  Panchromatic (R) aims to de-dramatize the effect obtained by the use of a red filter on Panchromatic film.

By further distancing itself from the cooler colours Panchromatic (R+) greatly increases contrast between greens and reds thereby delivering an arguably more pronounced effect.
 

​

Like a green filter on panchromatic film Panchromatic (G) is aiming to provide greater definition in the 500-600nm range whilst darkening reds and deep blues.

Not too dissimilar to orthochromatic imaging yet remaining responsive above 600nm this Style seek to emulate the use of a Blue 85B filter on daylight balanced black and white panchromatic film.
